Today I thought I would take you through my guide to playing goalkeeper in FIFA 12 and Pro Clubs
[ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
"6,9" is by far the best overall height
It is good for top corner saves and low saves as well
"6,6" this is the average height setting
This is slightly less dependable for top corner saves
& used better for low shots
"6,4" this is the shortest of the bunch & depending on your positioning
Top corner shots become increasingly difficult to save
But low shots are much easier

125 pounds is the average weight
You have a higher chance of saving the goal
But a lesser chance of saving a low shot with power
110 pounds is a great weight to choose
Your dive is unrestricted and has no limits

You want to start your dive either as the ball is struck, or just before it is
The direction you want to dive is controlled with the right analog stick

If your having trouble staying in position you need press & hold LB
The setting of your assists does not affect your positioning but you should always Remember to hold LB before and after the shot

Manual Settings
I recommend this setting if you are needing good timing, direction, & positioning. However,if you dive the wrong way its a very simple goal for the opposing team to make. This setting is recomended for advanced goal keepers only
Semi Assist
I recommend this setting if you're focusing more on Direction and timing
But not worried about your positioning
Ex: If you were using manual and standing near the left post
While someone shot towards the right post
It would be very difficult for you to save
Where as on semi the chances of saving it are higher
Assisted
I recommend this if your needing good timing without having to worry about what Direction to dive. You can flick the snalog anyway and you will have a good chance of Making the save, even if you are slightly out of position

Corner Defense
Your height setting will determine the effectiveness of this tactic
If you think you can make it to the cross then hold Y to charge out
If you are going to risk a charge then you should do it just as the corner is hit
1 on 1
If you are going to risk a charge
I recommend holding Y as they are about to shoot
& pressing B or flicking the stick.
Flicking the stick has a slightly higher chance of saving
But pressing B will make you dive quicker and spread more of your body out
Cutbacks
This will help you out with all of your saves
Go to game settings/FIFA 12/VP Section
& turn on your threat indicator
This will help you to time your saves more precisly
When the other team shoots a red ring will now appear below their feet
& as soon as you see this ring you should flick your analog stick
Hope this guide helped!
