No matter what game mode you get into, you will be best off shooting ground forces to level up your jet class quickly. Strafe runs (casual fly bys) are the best way to kill enemies on the ground. Also; for first time pilots, flying in third person is usually easier than first person. To get kills however, it is much easier to shoot while in first person. Always spot your enemies if you can, Good Luck!

EDIT: Jets in RUSH mode (A-10 Thunderbolt & Su-25 Frogfoot) have stronger 30mm cannons, which are ideal against ground armour so they can take out tanks much easier. The A-10 and Su-25 are the stronger jets, and I personally believe they are easier to get kills with. The F/A-18 Hornet and Su-35 Flanker (Jets used in conquest game modes) on the other hand are multi-purpose jets and have weaker 20mm cannons.

Stay low and try to stay out of trouble/inside of map where war is going on
