The Koss Portapro and KSC75 are two of the best budget portables out there. The Sennheiser PX 100-II is a good option as well if you want a closed design.
An IEM is also a possibility. If you can spend a bit more and wait a little while, the Vsonic GR06 is unbeatable for the price. The Xeport 5010 is also a good option at $15, and it's money well-saved.

The Yuin PK2 or PK3, Sennheiser MX580, and Blox M2C are some good earbuds under $100. Personally I wouldn't spend a lot here, but that's just me. Also not sure about iDevice controls.
Thank you - I presume it would be better to get in-ear rather than earbuds? Do they get more comfortable with price because I've had a couple of quite cheap pairs of in-ear earphones (less than $20) and they've been very uncomfortable. I want to spend a lot on a good pair of earphones but don't want to spend nigh $100 to not like the feel of them...

Yes, it would be better to get in-ear. It's not a matter of price that determines comfort, it's more design and accessories than anything. Comfort has been the deal-breaker for me with IEMs in the past, but the Vsonic GR06, which I am hyping BIG TIME, is making me reconsider. It comes with a ton of tips, so there will be one you like, and the quality of the tips are very, very good. The comfort with these things is supposedly stellar. Unfortunately, they're been out of stock for a while, but expect them to be back soon since they're relatively popular and there's a lot of hype going for them. Here's some good reading:

And here's where to buy them when they eventually get back in stock. Just click USD in the top right corner.

Also, if you're looking for a cheap pair of IEMs that's actually VERY good, check out the Xeport 5010 from Xeport's site. They're absolutely incredible for the price.

I looked at both of those from previous posts and almost bought the Xeport 5010 just because of how cheap they are + I also found a pair of the Vsonics on the internet.
But the thing stopping me is the iDevice controls. It probably shouldn't be a big deal but it is convenient having a microphone and the ability to answer phonecalls at a press of a volume control.
I looked on the Sennheiser website and did the 'headphone guide' and the 4 that were compatible with the iPhone had poor reviews on external websites (such as Play.com), so I might just give up and buy one of the 2 you recommended and just get use to the lack of iDevice controls.
Would one of the 2 (Xeport or Vsconics) be significantly better for my music choice and the fact that I'll be playing music, almost exclusively, from an iPhone, or would they both be about the same?
Sorry about so many questions, I've been wanting some help with earphone purchasing for years now.

It's your money, you need to be asking questions!
There are very few headphones with an inline mic and controls that fit the bill, if any at all. Personally, I've never felt like I was missing anything without controls and if I have them, they just get in the way. That's just me, though.
The Xeports will be better for the electronic music as they're bassier, while the Vsonics will be better overall and have a more neutral sound. I prefer neutral over bassy for electronic, personally.

Yeah, but I don't necessarily need to be attempting to clog up your forum post with questions
That's what I've noticed - I think I'm going to have to be flexible and go for some in-ear ones without the controls
I'll get the Vsonics - they're being sold at the moment on eBay by a shop with 100% feedback over nearly 4000 transactions, at only 5 more than the shop you sent me to

That's a link if you or anyone else on the forum wants a pair
Thank you again for all your help - I might get the Xeports as well whilst they're only $15 - can get a few spares as they're offering free delivery for over $50 and since I live in the UK, I'd rather spend 35 on 3 pairs of earphones than 20 on 1 pair and international delivery

JustinMcc wrote i bought drebeatsHD solo's for 180GBR from currys the sound is...high definiton you hear everything the music producer wants you to hear in the songs they make and you listen to
The Solo is one of the worst-sounding headphones on the market. The fact that you would pay so much for such garbage is disgusting.

Get some friends who want the Xeports to get you free shipping.
You're welcome! Good luck!
