We all see what seems to be a monthly occurrence now, TTG asking for new staff so that they can moderate the forums better, but still it seems that the sections are horrible. I'm a member of a few other forums and none make your topic disappear off page #1 so quickly. I really think there needs to be a cap on the topics a user can make.

Earlier today I put about 10 minutes effort into writing a decent Tut for TTG, a few users in the shoutbox complimented that it was useful, within minutes it had 0 replies and was off the top page. I paste the exact same topic over on 7s, and there's literally no spam topics in the section, and ones that are get instantly removed. My topic stayed page #1 and got replies.

Over on yeoush they operate a 1 topic / day policy & the inability to create a topic on your first day here, I've never seen anyone complain, nor anywhere near as excessive spam topics as there are on this site.

Somethings needs doing.

I've honestly never seen an open staff position or request down here on TTG.
I've been on forums for about more than 10years now, ranks go from just a regular member to moderator to administrator to owner.

When I do approve the hard work and effort that's put in here, to keep a 700k member base up and running without any MAJOR problems or errors.
I do feel like they can step it up a notch.

When I'm browsing some sections, I do pick up some things now and then that should've required instant attention.

But we all know the staff is doin' its best to keep the forums clean. Big props for that.

Let's just hope for the best and see what the future brings.

I don't see open staff, but I think people with 300+ rep and 1000+ posts should at least become staff.

I don't think reputation and post count matter. It's about the experience that you have with 'general' forum management.

I've seen alot of +1000 post counters that still don't know a single line of the rules.

The rule states not allowed to speak about staff's actions, I'm not insulting any staff members directly, all I'm trying to say is even with all these staff recruitment, TTG's forums are literally the untidiest I've ever encountered.

The forums are overrun because of the members, not through lack of effort from staff. Staff can't control what is posted, they can only maintain it to an extent.

I'm pretty sure Sean said they are working on a method to reduce the spam and general untidyness. He even mentioned getting rid of the GD section.

As far as a topic cap, i'm not against that idea and it could work. I don't think 1 topic a day would work though, four of five would be a more reasonable number in my opinion.

Anyway, although it's frustrating like Blaze_dis said - let's just wait and see what the future holds.
