I just bought a new 60 gb hard drive for my xbox 360 but when i plug it into my xbox it doesent say it is in. what should i do??

For an external Hard drive hooked up directly to the xbox 360 to work it has to be FAT32 Formatted.

Open a command window by going to Start, then Run and typing in CMD.

Now type in the following command at the prompt:
format /FS:FAT32 X:

Replace the letter X with the letter of your external hard drive in Windows. Windows will go ahead and begin formatting the drive in FAT32.

You will need to go to your system setting and then memory you should able to see it hope this helps
