Pokemon Black 2 and White 2!

Pokemon Black 2 and White 2 where announced in the last few days on a Japanese TV Program called "Pokemon Smash" in the last few days.

The description of the video states:

Pokemon producer Junichi Masuda has announced two new separate games called Black 2 and White 2 during a Japanese show called Pokemon Smash. Slated release is scheduled in Japan in June for the DS.

The game will feature two new forms of Kyurem, as you can see from the pictures provided.

So, there are two new forms of the legendary Dragon - Ice type Pokemon, Kyurem. Each game once again has one of the two forms as the main mascot, and will most probably mean that you will have to trade with the opposite game to obtain both forms in your Pokedex.

From the pictures we can tell the new forms of Kyurem have features taken from Reshiram and Zekrom, meaning a possibilty of them returing to the story line. There is quite a high chance of this because of similar situations that have happened like this before, ie Pokemon Emerald, both Kyogre and Groudon made a return, to help move the story on further.

Release Date:

Release date for Japan is expected to be June, so for the other continents, (mainly US, EU and AU) we will probably recieve the game around 2 months after this time, so August - September era.

The game is available to pre-order on the site below. The release date (UK) for which you will receive the game is 24th August 2012

Trailer Analysis

From the very start of the trailer, we can see the map of Unova, which has greatly changed. The differences between Pokemon Black and White, and Pokemon Black2 and White 2 of the Unova region are as follows.
1. A large amount of ice now covers a lot of Unova, which came from the North East.
2. The road between Castelia City and Nimbasa City has been been completed, which now goes through the desert - with a settlement that has appeared to been established along this road.
3. The construction in Driftveil has been completed, but two additional creators have been made, one being where Cold Storage was located.
4. The Entralink's moat has been drain, as well as the Entree being replaced with a different type of tree.
5. Finally we can see that a section has been taken out of the Mountain in the East, and a new man made structure has been added.

Further on in the trailer we see Reshiram and Zekrom's heads on a DS screen, which then cuts to the new forms of Kyurem, which looks to be a mixture of Reshiram and Kyurem and Zekrom and Kyurem.

After seeing the two new logos, we have a shot of our character (which has also changed look) coming out of a house in a new town, it then moves onto our character walking round a different area, possibly the same new town, or a completely different one.

At 0:24 we can see the character enter a building which looks to be a cinema, with the main film being show as a giant robotic looking pokemon verses a human with a cape on. There is then various other shots, include on of an event, which has a pokemon (possibly Chincino) in a grassy area. Another shot showing a large underwater glass encased road, which looks to be a new route to travel to get to another city.

At 0:34, a clip of the new gym, most likely water - is shown. This is because of the travelling around on lilly pads (a possible puzzle) and when walking up to the leader, a gym logo can be seen on the floor, along with the typical gym leader battle scene when entering the battle. The leader also looks to be wearing swimming gear and goggles.

From here on we see clips of old pokemon from other generations, appearing in the wild, hinting that some of the old pokemon have been mixed into the new pokedex, allowing us to catch them before obtaining the national dex.

At 0:58, we see the first shots of Black Kyurem and White Kyurem in game, displaying Black Kyurem using an electric move (possibly Black Kyurem specific) and White Kyurem using an Ice move.

We now get various shots of a new town, old pokemon in a double battle and a person which looks to be a new professor. It then moves on to Keldeo, using hydro pump against an Emboar, hinting Keldeo might be available to find in the game from release.

We then see what looks to be a film set, with a green screen at 1:13, with cameras at the edge. This could be related to the cinema like building we saw earlier in the trailer. This is backed up by there being a robotic Tyranitar at 1:15, which is similar to the one advertised on top of the cinema.

1:17 shows a group of people wearing an outfit, possible the new Team which we fight at various stages in the game, along with a person talking to them which could either be a friend, or the leader of this new group.

1:22 finally shows a shot of Kyurem flying at the screen with glowing eyes for a short time, where it then switches to show the box arts and the price, with all information being in Japaneese.

Juicy Info from Bulbapedia:

The games take place two years after the events of Pokmon Black and White. In this time, the Unova region appears to have changed greatly. The northeast and a small area of the far west are covered on the map, and it is not yet confirmed if the ice is simply covering changes that will be revealed later or if it is actually present in the region. New locations are accessible in the south west of the region, one of them being Hiougi City, the new player's hometown. New Gyms and Gym Leaders are also introduced, and the Unova Pokdex has expanded to include Pokmon foreign to the region, much like in Pokmon Platinum.

So it seems that there is a new home town, along with new locations, due to the ice coverage of the old home town and locations, whether we will be able to visit the ice covered areas is yet to be released.

A new Forme of Keldeo has been leaked, said to be called the Resolution Forme. No much else is known at this time!

3DS Capabilities:

The games can also be played in 2D on the Nintendo 3DS system.

Does this mean that there will not be a 3D version of the game, released along side the standard copy at release, and 3DS owners (like me) will have to play in the normal 2D? Well only time will tell and for now, it looks this way.
