Save Funimation Topic
The FUNimation Channel is North America's second 24-hour English-dubbed anime digital cable network. The first was ADV Films' Anime Network. The service originally was available to a few cities via UHF digital signals and was temporary as the channel was trying to gain a foothold in the already crowded digital cable landscape. Another short-term service was the syndication of a FUNimation Channel block to one of OlympuSATs affiliate networks, Colours TV syndicated block. Both services were discontinued in favor for a more successful expansion on digital cable, fiber optics and DBS systems, making it now a cable television network. As of September 27, 2010, a High Definition feed was launched alongside existing SD and VOD services. On February 16, 2012, Verizon announced that it will drop FUNimation Channel from its Verizon FiOS service "on, or after March 15" due to "very low viewership".

On Monday, a blog post was sent out, FUNimation was asking fans to contact there service provider, Verizon in support of there channel on live TV.

Verizon announced there plan to stop showing the channel on there FiOS services last week, stating "Very Low Veiwership"

The blog post asked fans and viewers to call Verizon there provider at 1-800-VERIZON, or tweet to Verizon twitter accounts (FiOSTV and Verizon), or post on the facebook page. FUNimation has also posted a petition to support the channel an maybe eveb succeed in keeping it on the service.

stated that calling facebook, twitter, or their main branches are the most helpful and effective ways.

Hey, a personal side-note from Sunku, i love this channel and will always support it, please, help me if you are loyal to the channel, Verizon is turning off the channel on or after the day of March 15, 2012

~This has been NekoBoy Sunku, have a great day, read animes, and i will see you later.

Message from Verizon Fios

Dear Customer,

On, or after, March 15 2012, Funimation (channel 262) and Bridges TV (channel 278) will be removed from the FiOS TV lineup and you will no longer be able to view this content.

This programming has been discontinued due to very low viewership and the continued effort of Verizon to offer our customers the most popular channels while keeping our rates reasonable.

We appreciate your loyalty to Verizon FiOS TV and apologize for any inconvenience.
Remember that you can access the most current local TV line-up 24 hours a day/7 days a week at verizon.com/fiostvchannels.

Thank you for choosing Verizon.

Sincerely,
Verizon

Save Funimation.

Seems like there is still a way to keep FUNimation Channel on Verizon. According to a Funimation ENtertainment post several ways. Postng, calling and asking for the preservation of Funimation Channel on channel 262. For details, you can read below.

We need your help. Verizon FiOS TV is planning to drop FUNimation Channel from channel 262. Call 1-800-VERIZON (1-800-837-4966) and also let @FiOSTV and @Verizon on Twitter and Verizon Fios on Facebook let them know you want the channel to remain on FiOS TV. They plan to drop it March 12. Thanks in advance for your help and please spread the word.

AFTER you call Verizon, check out this petition. Calls and posts on Twitter and Facebook are the most effective, but it doesnt hurt to cover all the bases. [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

Theres also been a forum thread created on the Verizon site, which you can access here.

I try'd my best to save the channel, for those who helped I give you my deepest thanks, I hope the support we obtained was enough to save the channel and that anime will live on in the Fios network. But the date has been set, march 15th will be here soon and we will see if are attempts made a difference. Once again thanks for all who helped and Take care.

Funimation is canceled. No longer on Fios

I'm heart broken to inform you that Funimation is no longer with Verizon Fios.
I thank all of you who supported my effort's In saving the channel.
We lost out to a Disney channel being added to replace are beloved anime.

I wish it wasn't so but we no longer have access to Funimation through TV.

Look's like we must watch are anime online.
To Verizon Fios, you just lost my service.
I have canceled my T.v, Phone, and internet from them.

I am outraged my favorite channel was taken off air, when they have stations that have way fewer viewing rates. Not to mention their internet is a lie. They sell you a 35mbps but thats a lie, you only get 20mbps. So I am done with Verizon all together now.

Losing Funimation was the final straw in my book.

Once again Thanks to all the support, we try'd that's all that matters.
