I was messing around in my iPod and set a passcode. For some reason, I thought it would be acceptable to use something other than my usual passcode (which is the one I use on my phone.) I forgot what it was, and now I have some real problems.

First, my iPod is jailbroken using redsn0w on 4.3.3.

Since I jailbroke it, I found myself unable to use iTunes to update or restore the iPod. Fine by me really, no big deal. (I don't have any backups from before I jailbroke, so it'd be pointless if I could anyway.)

I've figured out how to edit the plist files on the iPod so that when it boots from being powered off, it is unlocked. However, if I lock it or it auto locks, the enter passcode screen comes up.

I know there are methods for finding the passcode in the plist files, however, I've been unsuccessful thus far. I've looked into where it should be, and it's not there. If anyone could help, it'd be appreciated.

If you had SBsettings you can go in safe mode and delete the pass code.

If you have SBsettings which is a tweak that you swipe your finger on the status bar, you can go to power and safe mode. In safe mode you can go into settings and fix it. This can be done at the lock screen. Also there is a program on the computer that will unlock your device. I forgot the name of it but if you do research im sure you will find it. Let me know if i helped

I couldn't find the program to unlock my device, so I used my method of editing springboard.plist to boot it up unlocked.

I then installed the SBSettings through Cydia, and used the safe-mode option from the SBSettings app. However, it didn't do anything but disable my one-touch home button to open SBSettings, and gave no option to change or remove the passcode. Did I do something wrong?

I should specify it tells me that springboard has crashed and went into safemode (I assume this is intentional) and gives me the options 'help', 'ok' and 'reboot'. I've tried help, and nothing appears. I tried reboot, and nothing happened except for the obvious rebooting of my iPod. The 'ok' option also does nothing but close the message and returns to lock screen.

I've tried deleting the keychains db file previous to this post, and that also didn't work.

I also said in the OP that I can't restore. Error 1602. I've tried from backups + no backup. Same error both tries.
