I downloaded the start menu through rainmeter, and it actually looked quite impressive. Although it works best on touch screen, it does work quite smoothly on a PC. I would recommend, and you can always downgrade.

Here is my thoughts, I posted this on XMB first put it suits here just as well:

I installed with almost no hassle, actually the only problem I had was with my monitor and had nothing to due with Windows 8, just the automatic color adjustment. I am on Windows 8 right now, and tbh I love it. I know a lot of people don't like it, but I like most things. It is a lot more convenient to do a lot of things, like you can link up your FB account to the People app. Also all the apps worked for me, and I love the email one. You can easily hook all your emails up.

Also during setup it has lots of features which you can turn off and on, also you can link up your hotmail account which I thought was pretty cool. I kinda dig the metro look, I have a feeling it is going to be overdone, but from a dev standpoint this is cool, it is like a whole new field to get working in. I already have a couple ideas for my first apps. Also from the little testing I have done with Visual Studio and Blend it seems easy to make a metro app. Though Visual Studio looks very very different, even though it is still the same in a way lol. I know a lot of people are going to hate on it, but I love it.

I just hope Cheater gets into it and makes Horizon an app or something cool.

Windows 8 suck balls. if you have a mouse and keyboard you will hate it, its not practical and it needs a better UI for people who dont want metro.

I put it on my old laptop and I like it there is an option to go to the desktop like in 7 but when you go to start it brings you to the "new" desktop. In my opinion buy a Mac and use bootcamp to put windows on it to that way you have a "good operating system" and windows.
