RDCA wrote "Now, I will walk in Elysium fields." That is the translation, you won't understand and in order for me to explain it I would have to explain Elysium and then why I put it here, sorry but that is too much effort. Maybe take some Latin and philosophy classes and you will know what I mean.

Philosophy? Probably not any time soon. Latin, though, intrigues me and I plan on learning very soon.

You remind me of Dawn (Meghan, at least).

RDCA wrote I never found Steve jobs inspiring, he is the same as everyone else, and so is Apple, they are just a whole lot better at hiding it.

Arrogant now are we?

He was a genius, the world will never have anyone like him, he's to great.

Maybe read a little about him, like his biography by Walter Isaacson, and learn a little.

I have been known to be arrogant at times, but this has nothing to do with it.

Steve Jobs was not a genius, he was manipulative. He uses people to achieve what he wants. Though lots of people see through his smoke and to what he does. He uses China as his btch basically. He abuses the conditions people are in in order to gain what he wants. There are reasons why this wouldn't work in other countries. They are getting paid roughly 1.50 and hour or so. Lets just be a bit generous and round up to $2. Now most of them work 14-16 hours a day so lets just 15. That means in a year they make: $10,800 a year. Now this may seem like a lot, but this is less then a new car costs. Plus they pay to leave there and eat. The food they serve is white rice, and some kind of cheap meat.

Now the scary part is, 7 years ago the pay was half of what it is now. So they only made about 5.5K a year. For those of you who have scene the ABC video on it, ever thought of this. ABC is owned by Disney, and the single largest stock holder in Disney is guess who, Apple. What that video shows is the best conditions.

As for Steve Jobs history, I know a lot about it. He actually only serves as a inspiration to me in one way, his brutality. If he didn't like it, he wouldn't take it. Other wise he manipulates the public in America and other places around the world.

Someone who is inspiring to me would do the best for all people, not just better. As for the "world will never have anyone like him" part, we have, we do, and we will. They will always be manipulators who can sheave their attributes to many and become sucessful in monetary gains. But in my eyes, true Success is to positively affect the lives of everyone you can. Steve Jobs just gives other people positive affects from the negative he gives others.

Maybe I think like this do to my love of the Patrones et Cleintes system of the Romans, where those who had money would help others, and they would show appreciation.

Nunc ambulabo in agros Elysium.

Also on a sidenote, I didn't find the speech that inspiring, it seemed more like a story about him than anything.

Fine, fine

I accept being rape*, you win

lol, but i don't share all of the same views, but i guess your right. He did use people, but he did basically create modern industry of technology. But no one is perfect, and so no one can be a perfect innovative role model either. And who do we have like him, who created an entire industry and has owned it over the course of many years? I have a hard time thinking of anything like that.

Latin is amazing, even more so when you have an amazing teacher like I do. She is a tab bit weird though as she is Russian and knows fluent Russian. I love to do things in Latin, and there is conventions and stuff. Also their is the national Latin Exam, which I placed in last year and I am taking it soon this year.

As for philosophy, actually if you find the right person, kinda like my social studies teacher who isn't afraid to express his beliefs you can probably understand what I mean.

Dawn and me think, well I somewhat look up to her in a way. She intrigues me and is a very smart person, I will remember the day in the shoutbox we had an amazing debate, though she did win that won. I think now though I would win that argument. Dawn is also fluent in Latin I believe and she is also amazing with computers. I do admit she is a lot smarter than me, but I am still young. I also like a lot what Dawn stands for, but she can be arrogant. (As can I lol.)

I agree in every aspect with your opinion of Dawn, and she was a lot of fun back in the older shoutbox. Very smart, and extremely talented. In humor, computers and security, as well as in language, and many other things as well. She also taught me a lot, or at least got my feet wet and let me do the rest. I wouldn't have ever thought twice about linux or the concept of open-source if it weren't for her.

I'll make sure I peek into philosophy a bit more, as well as Latin.

I never expected this would come out of posting this thread
