either download the updates or invite him then on the menu go on server browser and join a server with room for u and your friend, hope i helped

Restart your router, then turn on your xbox and go to settins , network settings , test xbox live connection , hope i helped

do what he said.. if that dont work you and him should turn you xbox off and when you come back on test connection then get on bf and inv him or have him inv you.. try that if that dosent work pm me..
