Do you want to do Live commentary? or go back and record over the video?

Hook the dazzle up to your computer and your xbox. use the dazzle software to record it. Then, take the clip and record your voice with it it whatever video editing program you have. Rep?

Im guessing your using Pinnacle 12... So record your clips, edit them and check that your video is the way you want it. Then plug your mic into the mic jack on your computer(pink one). ok now

Open the project and click on Setup. Then select VIDEO AND AUDIO PREFERENCES. On the drop-down lis under Voice-over recording, select your microphone. You can also change the channels and sample rate (the higher the value, the better the quality - the quality of your microphone is also important .. Needless to say don't expect a high quality mic to be able to always correct low sample rates). And don't forget that the higher you set the sample rate, the larger space you will need on your hard drive.

On the status line under the preview window, the audio icon is a microphone with a red line through it. That means it is turned off. Just click it to activate the audio. The audio sweep allows you to hear sounds when you move the cursor on the timeline across the parts of your project (called "scrubbing audio"). The faster you move the cursor, the faster the audio will play.

Click on TOOL BOX, then click RECORD VOICE-OVER.

This will open a dialog box where you can make level adjustments for recording the voiceovers.
Choosing a starting point in the timeline for the voiceovers (commentary):

Put the microphone where you intend to use it and say one sentence as a test, which will verify the record level. If you are satisfied, click on the RECORD button (which then becomes the STOP button).

A 3-2-1 countdown will play and then the recording light will come on.

When the LED indicates RECORDING and the video starts to play, you can begin to speak.

Finally, to complete the recording, click the STOP button. The light goes out and the clip of voiceover is automatically placed on the track sound effects and voiceovers.

Play the clip by selecting it and clicking the PLAY button.

At this point you can razor cut your soundtrack (to remove troublesome sounds, or delete white noise or static...). Note that you can also decrease or increase the audio level (click on the sound level and move the mouse to increase or decrease the volume - do the same a little further down the timeline to vary the volume curve).
