Hey guys r00t_b33r is probably one of the most smart people to talk to about headphones. Listen up because this guy will save your money. Never been a fan of Boses, Beats, etc.... But, so many people mistaken headphones buy thier looks not sound quality. This is what has driven beats to the top in the market. I believe the price also intimidates people to buy them as well. People say oh my gosh they must be good if they cost 250$-400$. And they are disappointed.... :|

Which genres you'll be listening to. Alt rock-dubstep-electro-house
overear
Whether you want open or closed headphones (Explained below). closed
What you are listening from
Desktop!
also i will be using these for gaming for bf3 on pc at night because during the day i use my sorround sound system
The Audio Technica A900X would be a good option for you. Maybe an Ultrasone PRO750 or PRO900 and an amp.
If you want something world-beating for gaming, though, an AKG K701/Q701 and an Astro Mixamp along with a Zalman ZM-1 mic is a killer combo. They use an open design, but it makes gaming even better. Have a look:

Other good options for gaming are the Audio Technica AD700, which does not need any special amplification like the K701 but has the same qualities that make it great for gaming, and Ultrasone headphones with S-Logic should be decent.
The AD700 or K701 would definitely be better for gaming, but if you turn the sound up loudly and don't want to disturb other people, they aren't your best option since they really do leak sound out. But open headphones would really be better.
Oh, totally forgot to recommend the Beyerdynamic DT880. They'd be pretty good too. A bit worse than the AKG, but have awesome positioning.

But the headband isn't reinforced by metal. They will eventually be so weakened by the stress the plastic receives in the section above the metal strip that they will snap.

Poof wroter00t_b33r wrotePoof wrote Hey what are good quality headphones better than beasts studio AND look cool in style.
How much are you interested in spending and what kind of music do you prefer? Also, what design would you like? Over-ear, on-ear, or in-ear?
I am spending as much as beats pro and prefer music of rap and dub the design would be very unique like out of this world and in ear and over ear
There's a bunch of good options, then!
The V-Moda M80 ($200):

Ultrasone Pro 750 ($270) (I LOVE the way these look):

Audio Technica ES10 ($400):

And if you want in-ear headphones, the Sennheiser IE8 is perfect for you ($400):

If you've heard Beats and think they're good, any of these will blow you away.
