Introduction
Setting up a Craftbukkit or Vanilla (Default Server) server can be easier than you think! The main difference between Craftbukkit and Vanilla Minecraft is with the use of Craftbukkit, you can install a WIDE variety of Plugins and Modifications to the server found [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] as well as [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] . With Vanilla Minecraft, you can install a very small range in plugins. If you are going with a mire classic Minecraft, follow the Vanilla Tutorial. If you prefer to use wide mods such as improved chat, then follow the CraftBukkit Tutorial. Other than that lets jump right into it!
Vanilla Minecraft Server
Here is a Basic List of Things you will need to make a Vanilla 1.2 Server,
Once you have these two things downloaded, we are going to install Hamachi now. Follow the Own screem steps to install Hamachi onto your PC.
Then when Hamachi is installed, you should see this,
Click on Network, Then Create a New Network. It should then prompt you with this screen.
Type in Your desired Network Name and Password. I would recommend the password be very simple if you plan on making the server Public.
You are now done with Hamachi! You will need your Hamachi IP though which is found here,
Now this is where the Server File Comes Into Play. Make a folder anywhere on your computer where you want to keep the server files, and drag the Server Program in this folder.
Double click and Run the Application. This will create a default world.
It will also generate files in the server folder.
Double click on the Server File. It should load up this text file.
In the settings, find where it says server-ip= after the =, place your Hamachi IP.
Then you edit other settings in the config and save and close the file. Then just run the .exe again and your done! Now open up minecraft, and connect to the IP. Make sure you add the port though so when you enter the IP It looks like 5.70.210.156:25565 (Whatever your IP is). Also keep in mind that for others to play on the server, they must be connected to the Hamachi network. Happy Vanilla!

You don't need Hamachi if you enter your router settings and open the 25565 port on protocol TCP and UDP
