I have two things to ask here.
1. Could I possibly take the flashed DVD drive out of my Jtag and use it on my retail?
2. Could I switch lasers on my DVD drives (My laser stopped reading disks)
I will gladly +50 Rep..

Yes you can swap disc drives and lasers "But be CAREFUL swapping the lasers" They are very delicate and easy to break!!

For the people saying I could swap DVD drives, I just tried switching DVD drives from my older Xbox and it wouldn't read any disks.
Then I put it back in the original Xbox and it was reading disks just fine.

If they are both say "Elite xbox" The drives are the same and it should work. But if you have an "Arcade" and "Elite" The disc drives will fit but wont read the discs.

oops, maybe I tried to "clean" the laser. I used a paper towel.
Does that mean my laser is F'ed up?

They Must Be The Same Model, But If There Both Arcade Then It Might Not Work, The HDMI Arcade And The First Standard Arcade Were Built With Different DVD Drives, And As Everyone Says, Be Very Careful With The Laser, Touch it Once In The Wrong Place And Its Virtually Broke .
