Introduction

In this section as it is there is a large problem with people attempting to scam and people being cought out by scammers. We need to take ZERO tolerance to this kind of behaviour as it only drags the community down. If you see any scammers operating do not post on their topics just report it. Together we can fight this and we can make a difference. The staff do their part, now YOU need to do yours

Important Issue: Renting

Many users now are choosing to rent from people such as Teh_1337. If you are renting you MUST have a vouch from the person you are renting from. Screenshots and quotes do NOT provide enough proof due to the ability to change text in browsers and quotes can be compleatly made up. If you are going to pay to get into a persons lobby who is renting then do not pay a thing till the person they are renting from has commented on their thread.


If you fail to get into a persons lobby who is renting then you have the full right to request your money back or arrange another date to get into a lobby. If the renter fails to comply with this then you can contact a member of staff. The best bet is to take the time to talk to the renters as it could be a very simple and honest mistake on their part.

It seems xp lobbys are back on the market for now

Only a tiny group of people can host xp lobbies. Such as Teh_1337 or JD_2020, but unfortunatly neither host on mw2 anymore but we do have TheRealHACKZXBL now who you can trust. So unless a staff member or trusted seller DO NOT PAY for one, be warned!

Youtube Subs

Anyone who asks for youtube subs, you can instantly count as a fake, they just are simply wanting their youtube subs boosting
Asking for youtube subs is NOT allowed, your topic will be closed and you will most likley recieve a warning depening upon the moderaters discression

Microsoft Points (MSP)

If anyone is asking for MSP then you should not hand over a thing, unless they provide legitmate proof of selling.

Thanks & +Rep

If anyone asks you to thank a topic or rep them before you get into a lobby, DONT, as they are just leeching off you and you most likley will not gain a thing, thanks and rep should be awarded AFTER the service has been provided
If you are caught asking for rep or thanks then your topic WILL be closed by an admin/moderater, you may recieve a warning depening on the dicression of the moderater and you may have your ability to rep or get the 1000 thanks badge taken away


Proof

What to look for?
A picture of their TTG username on a piece of paper help up infront of thier xbox JTAG
A video that clearly shows THEIR gamertag to be hosting the service

What not to trust?
If people have on thier thread a list of comments saying "Legit" do not take these as proof, they could have been taking from ANY post on TTG, or even made up
their name on a piece of paper infront of a screen showing the xex menu or lobby, as these can just be taken from youtube


Post Legit?

If the person asks for you to post legit and yourr gamertag, DONT, all your doing is giving them a fake vouch and allowing a scammer to get anywhere

System Link

Never give your account details to ANYONE who does not have the trusted seller, or a staff badge. By doing so you are only putting the security of YOUR account at risk

I would just like to remind you that TheTechGame.com holds no responsibilty if you get scammed, and the can only ban any users from TTG for scamming, so it is in YOUR best interst that you follow the rules and guidlines set out as they are in place to protect YOU.

Be sure to read the rules in the sticky and announcement. If any post is breaking the rules be sure to report it. It is vital you do this so the staff can get to them. 2 of the biggest threads in this section have been closed by staff. The rules apply to EVERYONE, so be sure to report the rule breakers.

I would also like to add you do not need to go posting saying show proof, fake, or anything else like that, if it is a fake hoster, report the topic and move on, otherwise all you are doing is bumping the topic to the top of the forums again for more people to get scammed
