You can do something called a Jailbreak. Very easy and simple to do, but can cause in permanent ban on not just your iPod, but your IP.

Some iPods/iPhones dont get found and are lucky, but when you do, your messed.

If you take it into Apple, they will know you have jailbroken it and wont refund you or give you a new one.

If you want to take the risk, use YouTube to work out how to do it.
