Review: I Am Alive (Xbox 360)
In my review will tell you, if the end-adventure from Ubisoft is worth the handsome price of 1,200 Microsoft Points.
The overall story of "I Am Alive" is quickly told: You'll be sent on the Odyssey in your hometown Haventon after the United States or perhaps the entire planet from an extraordinary natural disaster has struck, to search for traces of your family. What and why it happened, learn it as part of the wafer-thin and obviously inspired by prominent civil action movies any more than the name of your hero.
Up and away
What you must know, however: The landscape of the once vibrant city has been through many earthquakes severely affected. Streets and houses are destroyed, making many areas inaccessible. On the free movement survivors are also hindered by a thick dust cloud that has spread across the city, and choked her in a few seconds. To come back home, you have to be flexible.
A key gameplay element of "I Am Alive" is climbing. To get through the destroyed city, you have to be nimble - and fast: you climb hard to force that is spent and what you, in the form of endurance bar, you must always keep in mind. Other actions, such as sprinting, jumping and fighting stamina cost. Fortunately, your post-apocalyptic environment has goodies such as food, medicine or camera batteries (= extra life) to get ready.
In your wanderings through Haventon you meet other survivors and over again that you ask for help. You have to get them items that they need - in exchange for another extra life beckons. However, you are not all the people that you meet, friendly to. Marauding gangs make the dilapidated roads and unsafe forcing you to defend your lives by force of arms. Other survivors simply want to be left alone by you and hurt you as long as you do not provoke them. That the meanest side of humanity, is hardly in the world, come to the fore, contributes to the dense and gloomy end time atmosphere, the "I Am Alive" skillfully conveys.
Hard landing
Yes, "I Am Alive" is really atmospheric - but here the the praise. So great has become the atmosphere that is so terrible was the actual gameplay.
First criticism: On any differentiation in endurance-consumption of your actions has been omitted. You come thus in the curious situation that the climbing up a ladder to the usual protagonists as well as the leaching along hand over hand on a beam in the 20th Floor of a skyscraper or the rings with a powerful opponent. This situation is so bad, because you can always take food to recover stamina - even in the dust cloud. The extent of consumption of a can pickled fruits can help prevent suffocation, probably only know the developers. Normally I would not disturb such a detail, but if want to "I Am Alive" have been a tad more realistic than other action adventure games, this course should have been followed consistently.
Another factor contributing to high general level of frustration is the checkpoint system. Not enough that checkpoints felt kilometers away from each other, they are not saved when you exit the game. "I Am Alive" is thus not a good choice for small game snack, as a level, depending on your skill, may well take 30 to 45 minutes and you, if you are not the end of the level achieved later have to start all over again. The same fate you flowers when you die. And ye shall die. Very often.
Confrontation aversion
If ye does not proceed in the dust cloud or einschlagt climbing the wrong way and eventually crashes, it is usually the fights with other survivors who cost you your life. The combat system is so immature, namely, that you want to scream.
On the one hand you can with your gun, for it is hardly anyway munitions are not aiming to release, but are dependent on the "grace" of a very rudimentary Auto-Aim feature. This is above all an extreme faux pas as the first shot is often your only chance to rid yourselves of armed adversaries. You do not succeed, Enemies, which also carry firearms, make it unable to fight with the first hit, you need you do not struggle longer - you will of them shot down mercilessly.
On the other hand, it is not possible to keep up with the machete several opponents at bay, as you will have to engage in a QTE battle, not with your sword waving freely through the area can. In other words, while you're busy with an opponent, you will get from any other on the mouth. For in "I Am Alive" you will - of course - only attacked by groups of two to six monsters. While there is here a psychological "trick" - done it the hard bone first, to give rise to their colleagues - but it is quite uncomfortable, "Tough Guys" to locate, while the remaining shoots an armed.
Also technically can "I Am Alive" is not convincing. Graphically, it would be safe with a small downgrade the admittedly pretty lighting effects have been possible on the Wii: Low-resolution textures and character models look around carelessly, and the optical depression is ubiquitous through a gray filter intensified. In addition, objects were blurred in the distance by blurring effect, which for a game that lives by climbing on high objects, the visual sentence of death. The sound, however, is fairly ok, although the panic-tune that always starts when the stamina bar falls below 50 percent, very quickly annoying.
Conclusion
In my view, is "I Am Alive" even a natural disaster. Not a single gameplay element has fully matured and you ask yourself while playing the game repeatedly, whereas the three years of development flowed. There can also be a useful and dense apocalyptic atmosphere to change anything. Who is not a masochist, to make this download a wide berth.
My rating is a 7/10

This JAM is all about boomshakalaka and beyond!
Gameplay
NBA JAM is a really fun and addictive app. It's just over a year old now, but yet it manages to stay in the top 25 in the app store for now. This app is basically an app where you're 2 on 2 and battle it out on the basketball court. There are 2 modes in the app, one being "Play Now" which basically is a quick match and you pick you're teams and start quickly. The next mode is "Classic Campaign" in this mode you pick you're favorite team, and take it all the way to victory beating all 29 NBA teams! Moving on to multiplayer this app unfortunately doesn't allow you to play world wide, but you could play locally with a friend. As you can see the gameplay of this app is very fun!
Graphics
I completely love the graphics of this app. The whole environment looks amazing such as the court, basketball, and people. The graphics are really clear and crisp, something i really love about this app!
Controls
The controls in NBA JAM are pretty easy and fun! So the basic controls are as follows:
Offense:
-shoot
-boost
-and pass
Defense:
-shove
-boost
-and block
The controls are very easy once you sit down and play, i got then once i played my 4th match i was a pro at the controls. You can also slide you're fingers across the screen to perform combo tricks, making this app much funner!
Sounds
Alright probably my favorite part of the game. I cannot tell you how amazing the sounds are! You have a bit of nice backround music while playing, and you can also mute it and play you're own music if you'd like. But what makes the sounds so amazing to me is the commentators while playing, it's almost like you are actually playing a real game, making the app much better!
Overall Ratings
Gameplay: 9/10
Graphics: 9/10
Controls: 10/10
Sounds: 10/10
Final Rating For NBA JAM
9/10

Infamous: Festival of Blood
Console: Playstation 3 (Downloadable Only)
ESRB rating: T
Players: 1
Developer: Sucker Punch
Genre: Platformer

Description: Vampires have overrun New Marais and Cole MacGrath has been bitten. He has one night to find and kill the Head Vampire and save the city or he will remain a vampire forever.
Gameplay
The feeling of this game is similar and in a sense, almost identical to that of its prior game (Infamous 2). As usual the player movement and melee don't seem to disappoint. jumping and climbing buildings is smoother than ever and fighting your enemies is so well structured that at times you just want to forget your super powers and go on a brawl fest. Sucker Punch has a well developed formula for a non-clumsy gameplay experience

Story
The story could of been very compelling and had potential to be great, but the lack of a deep plot and fast ending made it nothing above average. one major flaw is that this game is short, REALLY short. a minimum of 2-4 hours is needed to complete the whole game! However they have a User-Generated Content community for you to explore after completion so the fun can still go on.

Graphics and Sound
Oh there's nothing better than some good music while completely demolishing your enemies and thats exactly what Festival of Blood delivers in the sound department. Great music, sound effects and voice actors are all present in this game which makes it just that much more enjoyable. The graphics are not revolutionary but there significantly better than most downloadable games and with only a size of 3GB, it packs a huge punch.

Controls
I cannot emphasize enough how well the controls are. they are Noob friendly and are very well layed out. Without of doubt one of the smoothest controls any game could have. Wether its Melee,Climbing,Jumping,Flying,or Shooting, you'll always have a good easy to use layout which is anything a gamer can ask for.

Overall
Infamous is one of the most well developed platformers on this new gen era and this addition to it's installment doesn't disappoint. Although the short and vague story is kind of a disappointment, that shouldn't be a reason to turn down this hell of a game.
8.5/10

I AM ALIVE

Realise date
Xbox Live Arcade
March 7, 2012
Game Description:
When Haventon is left in ruins and the cause of the devastation is unknown, players will be challenged to think, react and take risks that will directly affect themselves and those around them. This edgy survival-adventure game is being produced by the same development outlet behind such blockbuster titles as Assassin's Creed.
settings:
I Am Alive uses its post-apocalyptic environment far more effectively than many other games that share its nightmare vision of the future. I Am Alive joins games such as Fallout, RAGE and Left 4 Dead in its setting where a some horrendous event put paid to civilisation as we know it, but in truth, it's far closer in its atmosphere and aesthetic values to Cormac MacCarthy's grim post-apocalyptic novel, The Road.
overall setting 9/10
Gameplay:
The Game play could of been alot more better for all the time they put into the game. it was first anounst to us in 2006 and in witch that time you would of thought they would of put alot more time and effot into
overall 6/10
Graphics:
the Gtaphics i would not say they were the best but for the size of the map and all the buliding i would say they are not to bad appart from Stiff, awkward animations. Dust cloud is annoying to walk through.

overall 7/10
Controls:
There is not much to say abotu the controls appart from the Stiff, awkward animations.
Combat isn't fun, climbing isn't interesting.
overall 5.5
overall:
I Am Alive has great ideas and poor execution. It ends up being a flat, frustrating game that isnt worth your time or money.

Banjo Kazooie Nuts and Bolts
[ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
Game Info
Developer: Rare
Publisher: Microsoft
Platform: Xbox 360
Age Rating: E10+
Players: Single PLayer
Release Date: November 11, 2008
Synopsis
The long-awaited return of Banjo the bear and his friend Kazooie is upon us, though this time development studio Rare didn't follow its own playbook. The platforming genre has all but disappeared from the gaming world and so Banjo has changed with the times. Elements of Nuts & Bolts will be familiar to Rare fans, but don't expect a trip down memory lane. This time it's all about designing vehicles to tackle a series of challenges. It's a unique idea that isn't for everybody, but Banjo 3 is put together well enough that most anybody willing to put the time in to learn the rules will find a lot of fun. Don't immediately write this game off just because it isn't the Banjo you remember.
Nuts & Bolts may look like the Banjo of old at first glance and a lot of the hallmarks of the franchise are here in force. Gruntilda is back and can't stop rhyming. Jiggies must be collected to open new doors. Musical notes litter the ground everywhere to be collected. There's a quiz at the end of the game. This go around, the reason for the clash between Banjo and Grunty is a series of challenges set up by LOG, the Lord of Games and purported creator of all videogames. He's tired of the incessant fighting and has cobbled together this one as the final contest. The story really only exists as a way to tie this Banjo title to past ones and still have Rare's universe make sense.
Gameplay
For me, Bannjo Kazooie is one of the funnest games I have played in a long time. You start out in your home you and your friend Kazooie are fat and playing video games then all of sudden LOG shows up and has the challenges for you. Well the main purpose of the game is to to defeat the witch. But besides that you can collect jiggies and mystery boxes to help you pimp out your ride .
Online Battle
You can go online with your friends in the skate park and show off the cars or planes you have built in mumbos auto garage. You can race battle or just play around. The online is very fun.
Game Controls
Game controls are easy and awsome, You pick up stuff move with the right stick, You pretty much use every control on the controller in the game. Its very good too.
Game Rating
Simply 10/10 Flatout amazing game. The features are so new i've never seen a agame like ir before, everything is amazing about the game. Graphics, Storymode, Online battle Everything! Probably the funnest game I have played in a while.

Sorry this will be long!
I'm glad to say that, with Saints Row: The Third, Bilson's "Core Games" group is finally on solid ground. And in that respect, actually walking some of the big talk we've heard so much in the past few years. Beyond the now-infamous weaponized dildo and the inclusion of certifiable jams like Kanye West's "Power," there's so, so much to love and enjoy about Saints Row: The Third. Story contrivances are thankfully few and far between in Saints Row: The Third. Like most things in SR3, the focus is on getting players into what I've dubbed "Potential Fun Moments" as soon as possible. And when there are story contrivances -- like the opening scene, which sets the stage for the rest of the game, as well as the gang's move to the new city of Steelport -- the focus is still right there on those PFMs.
A zombie voice? Yes, a zombie voice. Sure, the character creation process isn't exactly "thrilling" (are they ever?), but the things you can do with it most certainly are (especially when coupled with the ability to download and share creations). Discovering that I could create an abnormally large pink monster with a zombie voice and a sloping brow was quick and painless, and the results of those choices during cutscenes was where my reward truly paid off.
You see, the zombie voice ... well, let's just say it makes the main character less than legible -- it's rather akin to "Crazy Dave" from Plants vs Zombies, and thusly turned intentionally goofy cutscenes into unintentional laugh riots. Subtitles allowed me to read the main story beats, but even the subtitles read like a script for zombie extras in Night of the Living Dead, making the choice all the more hilarious and definitive.
Whether it be grappling in a Luchador match or riding a sex slave-powered rickshaw to freedom, there are a dozen or more conversation starters in SR3; the kind of moments that other reviewers were buzzing about before the review embargo lifted, and many of which I'd rather not spoil for you.

I spent just over 20 hours in Steelport, upgrading my weapons to the point of massive devastation and kitting out cars to pop tires while I drove at thrice the speed of anyone else on the road. Did I mention there's a hoverbike? 'Cause there's totally a hoverbike. It shoots missiles. It was an easy 20 hours, speeding along just as fast as my overpowered sports cars and sniper bullets. And afterward I was still eager to jump in for more.
All of this (and more!) can be played co-op with a friend over Xbox Live or PlayStation Network, either separately from your own campaign or one in the same. Each person can earn Trophies or Achievements in each other's games, and both will record progress through the campaign if they're on the same mission (the game will otherwise warn you of an imminent character overwrite if you're not synced up in terms of progression).
Players can also team up for SR3's wave-based "Whored Mode," which pits one of several character models (read: not your creation) against a variety of different enemy types with different weapon constraints applied (giant scantily clad women armed with swords ... and you've only got unlimited grenades!). Unfortunately, while the gameplay of "Whored Mode" is surprisingly fun, it's the only part of the game that I felt was in bad taste.
Here I was, violently murdering loads of women, often wearing bikinis (presumably "whores?"), and for what reason exactly? The imagery made me personally uncomfortable. Thankfully, not every level/wave involves beating women with a purple dildo bat -- the mode is meant to constrain your weapons to something specific (yes, occasionally the bat), and offer a challenge based on that. Sometimes I was facing off against multiple "brutes" (tank-like enemies equipped with miniguns or flamethrowers), sometimes it was furries, sometimes "whores." Again, it's a fun diversion if you can separate yourself from the frequently upsetting themes.
Having only played SR3 in the Saints Row series, I can't say for sure whether or not there were massive leaps taken with the latest entry, but I can say that it feels brand new. Beyond the dense, dangerous, opportunity-filled open world, there's another mission type around every corner. Saints Row: The Third doesn't play like recent THQ efforts have -- all bark and no bite -- but instead feels like a labor of love. It feels like the developers had fun, and they wanted you to feel it too. And I promise, you will.
Graphics 9.5/10
Blood effects 9/10
Effects 8/10
Guns sounds 10/10
Sounds 8.5/10
Peoples voices 10/10
Controls 7.5/10 ( wired at first)
Overall I give it a 9.5/10

Platform: Xbox 360 (Xbox Live Indie Games)
Price: 240 MSP ($3)
Due to the highly popular and break out indie game of the year in 2010 known as Minecraft, we have seen a flurry of gaming knockoffs. Regardless if its on a computer or on the xbox live marketplace you have probably noticed games similar to Minecraft. With Minecrafts popularity primarily on PC and a console version not due out for months, its no wonder why a host of developers have been in a frenzy to create block-mining games for the 360.
While I dont think any developer will be able to match the success of the team at Mojang, the guys from Greenstone sure know how to give it one hell of a try. Total Miner has only been on the Xbox Live marketplace for a short time and has already risen to the top of the Bestsellers chart. The block-ming sandbox game allows the users to create whatever they can possibly imagine.
When I first picked up this game of the marketplace, sure I was pretty skeptical. My first impression upon running the game was, Here comes another FortressCraft. A game that was hyped up for quite a while only to leave the average gamer with feelings of being letdown.
Seeing as how the game only cost $3 I surely was not expecting much in terms of a minecraft comparable game. However, my generaldisillusiontowards other copycat like games was completely out of line in this review. From the time I ran the game for the very first time, I actually had a feeling of relief. While other games lack simple game functions such as (Breaking Blocks, crafting and an EasilyNavigableInventory) Total Miner had it all.
One of the key features I actually enjoyed was that I was able to witness the blocks being broken and can only place items so far. (No More Unlimited Distance) The inventory layout was simple and very similar to that of Minecraft and was accessible with ease. When breaking blocks I no longer had to hover over or wait for items to get picked up. Blocks that you break are automatically placed into your inventory, huge plus for me!
Generating a world may take some time, however unlike other games the map always seem to be rendered with a lack of beta holes! A feature that is quite enticing in Total Miner is that of the in-game minimap that shows a players surrounds and whats beneath them, a great addition! An in-game crafting guide is also a wonderful addition to the game to prevent constant Wikiing looking up how to craft certain items.
The game does however lack a feeling or sense of community. While you can share worlds with Share Session, the ability to only play Co-op with people over system link is a bit disappointing. While the in-game mini map is a breathe of fresh air, being a hardcore miner I find it a bit Cheap, to say the least.
While in its current state the game is not perfect, its an enjoyable indie game that provides hours of fun and constantreplay ability. Greenstone is currently planning and working on future updates and patches to improve on the game even more. If you have an extra 240 microsoft points I wouldnt hesitate to pick up this game up off the Xbox Live Marketplace.

Story:
The main quest begins after the player is forced to flee Vault 101 when James leaves the vault, throwing it into anarchy and causing the paranoid Overseer to send his police force after the player. The search for James takes the character on a journey through the Wasteland, first to the nearby town of Megaton, named for the undetonated atomic bomb at its center, then the Galaxy News Radio station, whose enthusiastic DJ, Three Dog, give the player the moniker of "The Lone Wanderer". The player travels to Rivet City, a derelict aircraft carrier now serving as a fortified human settlement. Here the player meets Doctor Li, a scientist who worked alongside the player's father. Doctor Li informs the player of Project Purity, a plan conceived by Catherine and James to purify all the water in the Tidal Basin and eventually the entire Potomac River with a giant water purifier built in the Jefferson Memorial. However, continued delays and Catherine's death during childbirth put an end to the project, and James took the player's character as a newborn to raise them in the safety of Vault 101.
After investigating the Jefferson Memorial, the Lone Wanderer tracks James to Vault 112, and frees him from a virtual reality program being run by the Vault's sadistic Overseer, Dr. Braun. James and the player return to Rivet City, and James reveals he sought out Braun for information on the Garden of Eden Creation Kit (G.E.C.K.), an invention of Braun's that contains the components needed to finally activate Project Purity. James and Doctor Li lead a team of Rivet City scientists to the memorial with intent to restart the project, but the memorial is invaded by the Enclave, a powerful military organization formed from the remnants of the pre-War United States government. James floods the project's control room with radiation to stop the Enclave military leader, Colonel Augustus Autumn, from taking control of it, killing himself, his last words urging his child to run. The Lone Wanderer and Dr. Li flee to the ruins of the Pentagon, now a base for the Brotherhood of Steel and now known as the Citadel. With Project Purity still inoperational even with the Enclave occupying the site, the player travels to Vault 87 to find a G.E.C.K. and finish James's work. The player finds the Vault to be a testing site for the FEV (Forced Evolutionary Virus), and the source of the Super Mutants in the Capital Wasteland. With the aid of Fawkes, a highly intelligent, civilized and friendly Super Mutant, the player acquires the G.E.C.K., but is ambushed by the Enclave and captured.
At the Enclave base at Raven Rock, the player is freed from their cell by the Enclave leader, President John Henry Eden, who requests a private audience with them. En route to his office however, Colonel Autumn defies Eden's orders and takes command of the Enclave military, ordering them to kill the player. Fighting their way to Eden's office, the player discovers he is actually a sentient supercomputer who took control of the Enclave after their defeat in Fallout 2 on the West Coast thirty years ago. Eden wishes to repeat the plan of then-President Dick Richardson using Project Purity, infecting the water with a modified strain of FEV that will make it toxic to any mutated life. This plan will kill most life in the wasteland including humans, but the Enclave, due to their genetic "purity" as a result of their isolation, will be immune and free to take control of the area. Eden gives the The Wanderer a sample of the new F.E.V. and is allowed to leave or convince Eden to self-destruct the entire base. The Lone Wanderer escapes Raven Rock with the help of Fawkes and returns to the Citadel.
With the knowledge they possess the G.E.C.K. and the means to activate Project Purity, the Brotherhood assault the Jefferson Memorial, spearheaded by a giant robot named Liberty Prime. In the control room of Project Purity the player confronts Colonel Autumn, and has the choice to persuade him to give up or kill him. Dr. Li informs the player that the purifier is ready to be activated, but the activation code must be input manually, and also that the control room is flooded with lethal amounts of radiation. The Lone Wanderer is forced to enter the extremely irradiated purifier and must enter the code hinted at through the game, that being 21:6, and immediately dies from a radiation spike. The player also has the possibility to enter the F.E.V. sample into the water prior to activation, having adverse effects on the games side quests post-ending.
Graphics:
The graphics on this Game are brilliant, Very realistic and a very gory game overall... The one problem with the graphics is the map, when you are sometimes exploring the outlines of areas show up white but overall 10 out of 10
Gameplay:
Fallout 3 is one of the best in it's series, I Loved it right from the begging, the best thing is the exiting story line and very creative artwork, The best fallout in the whole series expecialy with the DLC.
Downloadable content:
There are five DLCs: Operation: Anchorage, The Pitt, Broken Steel, Point Lookout, and Mothership Zeta, released in that order. Of the five, Broken Steel has the largest effect on the game, altering the ending and allowing the player to continue playing past the end of the main quest line.
Originally, there was no downloadable content announced for the PlayStation 3 version of the game. Although Bethesda had not offered an official explanation as to why the content was not released for PlayStation 3, Lazard Capital Markets analyst Colin Sebastian speculated that it may have been the result of a money deal with Bethesda by Sony's competitor, Microsoft. When asked if the PlayStation 3 version would receive an update that would enable gameplay beyond the main quest's completion, Todd Howard responded, "Not at this time, no." However, in May 2009, Bethesda announced that the existing DLC packs (Operation: Anchorage, The Pitt and Broken Steel) would be made available for the PlayStation 3; the later two (Point Lookout and Mothership Zeta) were released for all platforms.
My final rating:
10 out of ten great game overall
