How to prevent from getting hacked

By:-iBelieve-

Intro

Whats the thread about?
Well the point of this thread is to help you to not get hacked and lose your bank and that way you can improve in the game much faster rather than worrying about how your gonna get your armour or money back.

I hope this guide helps you if it does please leave feedback by thanking the topic:)

Types of Viruses

The first thing you are going to need to know is the types of viruses that there are.

A name that viruses are referred to as is malware or malicious software. Malware is pretty much names all types of viruses if you dont know what that is then you might know them by these names computer viruses, worms, trojan horses, spyware, adware, most rootkits, and other programs. trojans or trojan horses are the most common one and probley the worst kind to have.

How to Prevent/Stop Viruses

1.If you have a virus dont worry you can easily get rid of it. All you have to do is download a anti-virus software or anti-malware software. Most are not free but will give you a trial here are two anti-virus and anti-malware softwares that perfer.

Malwarebytes: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

Now for the first time you will probley want to do a full scan it can take a few hours but it is defiantly worth it. Make sure that you scan your computer often I scan mine once or twice a week just because it is so easy to get a virus.

2.Alright since most viruses that Runescape gets are keyloggers this can be pretty simple to stop them all you need to do is simple add a bank pin.
How does just a bank pin stop a keylogger?
Well a keylogger simple copys your keystrokes such as if I types in "hello" the person who gave me the keylogger would see that I typed in "hello" and that is how they know your password and stuff but a bank pin does not require keystrokes since you just simple click the number which a keylogger does not record.
MAKE SURE THAT YOU BANK ALL YOUR STUFF BEFORE YOU LOG OFF OR EVEN TAKE A BREAK.

3.Botting not all bots are hackers but some can be I have seen a lot of topics lately saying that they have been hacked by epicbot or rarebot this is a easy fix just don't bot. If you want to risk it then go ahead its just every time that you bot your are taking a chance at being banned and hacked.

4. Phishing sites these have become very common lately and can fool you very simply. Reason being because they look exactly like the runescape website log in. But long as you pass attention you can tell. Most phishing sites will have a "www.runescape.com.webs" or something along that lines make sure that the website only says "www.runescape.com" if it says something else immediately get off the site and I would change your password just to play it safe even though they probably did not get anything.

Ways that phishing sites are given out:
1.Emails at the moment this is a very common way they will most of the time send you a message like "Jagex Ltd. We would like to make you a moderator in the game" but this is really not jagex sending you this its just a phiser.
2.Another way is saying that they are doing a "500m" give away all you have to do is go to a site and log in but that is the phishing site and will most likely give you a error when trying to log on.

See something missing?

Well if something is missing or you just think it should be added just message me and I can add it and give you credit:)
