I got my first phone when I was 9. In my opinion I don't suggest that a child should have such a quality phone and it'll easily get broken one way or the other from them dropping it or doing something. (First phone was one of those minutes track phones or what not)

Technology is evolving if the kids want an iphone that bad they will get one, think about it they either get 500 worth of toys or an iphone that has apps after apps of games and stuff to keep them happy and it also works to let parent know they're child is safe

Discussion wrote Parents want to know if their child is safe.
Who cares about what type of phone it is?
Children should have phones to stay in contact with their parents.
Plus the iPhone is very popular.
In 2004 I remember I had a razor phone, that was the best phone out at that time.
This time, it's the iPhone.
and as for getting little kids expensive phones..i think that the best idea is to get them a minute or trac phone
lmao i totaly remember the razor, i ran through about 3 of em altogether but i loved those phones

any kid with a phone in general at that age is stupid. if u want them to have a phone to stay in touch, then u take them places and be with them all the time.
