Okay so whenever i take my hardrive from my HDPVR and plug it in to my mac, quicktime will automatically recognize the .avi file and ill be able to convert it into .mov but lately all ill be able to see when i try to watch a video in .avi format is a black screen with just the audio.....anyone have any suggestions??

rename the file to (name).mov and it will ask if you want to use .avi or .mov just click .mov

i just did that and now it says quicktime cant recognize it.......
