Recently, Robert Bowling has announced his resignation from Infinity Ward and Activision:

Here's the proof. He posted this on his twitter:

It looks like he left on his own and good terms.

In a bit of a shocking development, Robert FourZeroTwo Bowling, the official spokesperson and creative strategist of Call Of Duty developer Infinity Ward has resigned. Bowling was answering questions via his Twitter as normal and then 4 hours later he was announcing his resignation. Bowling has pretty much been the face of the franchise for the past few years, engaging fans on Twitter and appearing at major trade shows like E3. Even after all that turmoil that saw the founders of Infinity Ward leave to start Respawn Entertainment, Bowling remained and promoted Modern Warfare 3. There was no exact reason given for his departure with Bowling posting this simple explanation on his Twitter:

"Today, I resign from my position as Creative Strategist of Call of Duty, as a lead of Infinity Ward, and as an employee of Activision."

At this point it is unclear what Bowling will do next, will he join his old buddies at Respawn, get out of the industry all together or perhaps go independent. Nobody knows at this point, but we are sure that his 367,535 followers be waiting to find out and with as much sway as Bowling has with gamers a lot of companies would love to have him leading their franchises creative direction the way he did for COD. Not sure he would ever do it, but if EA wanted to make a splash recruiting Bowling to do the same thing he did for Call Of Duty for their Battlefield and Medal Of Honor franchises wouldnt be a bad move.

Activision responded and was very complimentary of Bowling saying:

"We sincerely thank Robert for his many years of service. Hes been a trusted and valued member of the Infinity Ward team. We wish him all the best on his decision to pursue future opportunities"

So now that you know the deal, what do you think he should do next?

There are probably other reasons, but everyone more or less thinks it's because of all the mods that got into MW3 lately.

But who knows, either way sucks
