District 205 and the REA will continue contract talks Thursday morning, but classes, sports, and activities are canceled until the two sides reach a deal, as teachers take to the picket line.


The negotiating teams met for more than nine hours on Wednesday trying to reach a tentative contract deal. Shortly before 10:30pm Wednesday night interim superintendent Dr. Robert Willis said the district was breaking off the contract talks for the night, saying they need to give parents and students notice that Thursday classes, sports and activities are canceled.



The two sides are planning to begin negotiating again late Thursday morning. Check back with WTVO for the latest on the negotiations and information regarding classes for Friday.
