Ok so I've been seeing these people more often now who are talking about how artists like Flux Pavilion, Excision, Datsik, Skrillex, Nero, and many others like that aren't dubstep. To let you all know, YOU ARE WRONG.
Definition of Dubstep: "Tightly coiled productions with overwhelming bass lines and reverberant drum patterns, clipped samples, and occasional vocals"

Dubstep has evolved from its origins back in 1998 to what it is today. Original dubstep started out as dark bass lines with beats that and also focused heavily on the beat. Dubstep today has evolved from that to heavier basslines that focused all more on the sound of the bass and melody than anything else. But the thing that some people don't get is that it is still dubstep.
Don't think your hard because you know what the "classics" are. You all call it brostep because you can't get over the fact that it has changed to what it is today. All of the artists above are dubstep, just a new form of it.
And before you hate on me for mentioning Skrillex, I understand already that not all of his songs are dubstep. He does electro house as well. I am also not even a Skrillex fan, I stick mainly to the underground; Tristam, Eartrash, Noisestorm, Varien, Mutrix stuff like that.
To sum it up:
This is dubstep:
And this is also dubstep:

I've always liked Skrillex, he seems to have good drops but I don't get how people think he doesn't produce dubstep.
Some is Techno but alot of other 'artists' do the same.

Well technically its not techno lol, but exactly most artists don't produce just one genre of electronic music they do multiple but its just that the people who are in to the classics think that none of this is dubstep.

For me, it's just for organizational purposes. I'm just not going to put Tangled Up In Blue by Bob Dylan in the same genre as Crimson by Edge of Sanity. You could argue that they're both rock, but come on now.
Just as I'd keep neurofunk separate from liquid drum & bass. I would never want these grouped together. Again, one could argue that they're both drum & bass. Of course they are, but the style is so different that it's helpful to label them differently.

And why is that? Everything is definetly right if you look it up and do a bit of research, unlike most I actually know about this stuff, and I am not a mainstream fanboy so I can come from a neutral point of view.

firstly
skrillex are not a whole genre, but they make dubstep the most. All of the artist u put above are dubstep as they make beats at 140 with a specific drum pattern. U R also a retard for arguin that noisia 16bit rmx is not 'brostep'as it defo is.
Wiki harder brooooooo
