WARNING ! WARNING ! WARNING ! WARNING ! WARNING ! WARNING ! WARNING ! WARNING !

As many of you know, there are quite a few theater mode exploits that have cause these "de-rank" lobbies to become somewhat of an epidemic in the online gaming community. I've seen a lot of threads where people are asking for info regarding their stats and whether or not they will be recovered. So, I am creating this thread to answer a few questions that you guys have. Feel free to ask more questions if you don't see your question here and I will add it to the OP. Now on to the big question.

Above is the statement from the official IW twitter page. That link redirects to Activision Customer Support where you can report your de-rank. Hopefully they will follow through on this promise. I suggest taking precautionary measures to prevent being de-ranked, meaning only play with your friends and don't accept random invites. Someone may say "Infected lobby! Join!" but in reality it could be a de-rank lobby.

IW hasn't released a statement regarding the recent prestige glitch (or at least I haven't seen it) but I think it's safe to assume that you will be reset if you are caught doing the glitch. I don't know how they would know, unless you send messages/post on the internet that you have done it. I haven't seen any bans or resets from this exploit yet. When you are reset, EVERYTHING is reset, it's like you just bought the game.

Former Infinity Ward worker has Tweeted
A IW worker has tweeted:
" We have fix in the works for " Reset lobby's " and have backed up players stats so they can be restored.

If you are caught using the or even doing the vault infection for mw3 you will receive a reset or Perm-ban.

How to Avoid:
1.Appear offline when hosting
2.Dont host the mods all day
3.Dont use your main account because you will get banned for 9999 years
4.Dont put the mods in your vault

UPDATE: Afternoon, all. It seems I made a bit of a boo-boo this morning in my post wake-up haze. The code of conduct was actually posted months ago; the news is really the above image, which is what Infinity Ward's "banhammer" software looks like, as shared by Robert Bowling on Twitter. You have my apologies for the error. I'm going to go ahead and blame the Nazis, because video games have taught me to do so.

ORIGINAL POST: Activision's Call of Duty developers have never been shy about denying players access to the online portion of the game when they act like jerks, by cheating, boosting, hacking or being just plain, old meanies. Those bans are actually governed by a set of internally established guidelines, which Infinity Ward's Robert Bowling shared in a post to the Call of Duty forums earlier today.

The Modern Warfare 3 Online Code of Conduct breaks possible offenses down into six separate categories: Boosting, Cheating, Glitching, Hacking, Offensive Behavior and Offensive Gamertag. Offending players risk incurring anything from a stats reset to a leaderboard or multiplayer ban. Some categories have an escalating series of punishments for first, second and third offenses. Hacking is not tolerated at all, however; any confirmed hacker will have his or her console immediately and permanently banned.

But hey, I'll make this real easy. Don't cheat, don't be an ****. Then you won't have to worry about any of this!

Security & Enforcement Policy wrote:

Infinity is committed to providing all gamers with the best online experience possible, and that means maintaining the games integrity. We have a zero tolerance policy against exploitation, and this is to protect the many gamers who go online to compete and have legitimate fun. Below is a brief outline of our security and enforcement policy which will remain posted and will get updated here.

The infinity ward has worked very hard to create a fun, competitive online environment, and we want to keep this environment clean so that the game can be played as it was intended. Users who abuse the game through modding, boosting, glitching or making offensive emblems degrade the online experience for others, and we will take action to prevent this from happening.

Bans cannot be appealed.

Keep it clean. Play nice. Have fun.

Thanks
- IW infinity Ward
