Ok I know this is a really noobish question lol, but anyways, people always say they will give you 25 rep for something. Then, if you look and see how much rep they have it will say 10. I know that 100 rep points is 1 rep power, but when i try to rep someone it will only say 1-5 rep.

It is because you only have 5 rep power.

You only have 5 Reputation Power so therefore you can only rep someone 5 rep points
However much reputation power you have is how many rep points you can give someone

That was kinda confusing

You would have to rep the guy 5 times for you to give him 25 points

Normal Members can give: 25 Reputation Points
Gold Members can give: 50 Reputation Points
Staff can give: 100 Reputation Points

To give 25 Reputation Points in one go you will need 25 Reputation Power (Whats shown under your post count).

People who say that they will give more than their maximum Reputation mean that they will give it in pieces. To do this they will +Rep you once and then another person and then you again.
