Game Information
Release Date: Novemeber 8th, 2005
Developers: Harmonix
Publishers: Activision, RedOctane
Rating: T
Genre: Music and Rhythm

Synopsis
A simulation of a rockstar experience, of controlling your band, experiencing the feeling of Live performance through a video game has never before been developed in length and detail such as Guitar Hero delivers. Simulating the guitarist, all with a user friendly guitar which can be simplified into different levels of difficulty. Or perhaps you're a diehard rock fan, and would love to see some of your favorite guitarists in action, all with simplifying the performance. Guitar Hero brings a whole world of simulation to the gaming table.

Story
Guitar hero's storyline follows one major mode: Career mode. Through career mode you will travel to some of the biggest cities, the coolest towns, all following along the story of how you personalize your rocking experience, and how you progress through the various playlists and venues available to you. Each venue features around 4-6 different songs in which you must complete on a certain difficulty in order to advance onto the next venue or playlist. Although the story mode may sound boring and simple, the game allows you to customize your character, and unlock cash along the journey. With the cash that you earn, it can be spent on guitars, characters, venues, songs, videos, and much more.

Graphics
The one characteristic that brings Guitar Hero to its downfall is its lacking graphics. Most of the characters of somewhat sloppily designed, even for a PS2 game. The characters may lack certain features, and certain movements in the game. Although the main character graphics are somewhat weakened, the scenario and audience enhances the graphics rating up a whole lot. Movements and actions with the scenario are extremely advanced and have you wowing as Storm Troopers start doing complex dance moves. The scenarios are great, and the lighting in this game is sincerely fantastic. All together, the graphics are the only sincere downfall.

Gameplay
Guitar hero is one of the most fantastic gameplay advanced games of all time. Guitar hero brought a new genre, a new advancement to the gaming table. It brought forth the ability to simulate and enhance Guitar like experience through a simply amazing piece of guitar simulated equipment. As you progress through the story mode with various guitars and guitarists, you really realize how advanced and magnificent Guitar Hero really is. Along with the simulation, Guitar Hero simulates a band experience, as you progress your band through various situations and scenarios. You unlock cash which is used to buy different songs, guitars and so on. The progress in this game and advancement doesn't really end. The controls work like this. A certain color will appear towards you on the screen. As it becomes to the point where it interjects the 5 buttons on the screen, you stroke and press the certain button that appears. If done correctly, the note will be added to your streak. If not, it will make an error sound. Simply, amazing.

Soundtrack and Guitarists
Although the amazingness of Guitar Hero really doesn't end, one of the only faultys is its soundtrack and lack of customization towards guitars, soundtracks, and guitarists. Guitar Hero has a lack of classical soundtrack, and this really affects it as only some notable and memorable artists are clear towards the soundtrack. Guitars and Guitarists really also fault as there is not much customization towards them, as there is towards the character and its abilities. Although it brings forth some memorable tracks, the soundtrack and what not lacks in most ways.

FINAL RATINGS:
Synopsis: 10
Story: 9.5
Graphics: 7
Gameplay: 10
Soundtrack/Guitarists: 8.5

FINAL RATING: 9.3 A CLASSICAL MUST-BUY WITH TONS OF MEMORABLE FEATURES

Hooked on this game since day one. Still play it till this day but one hundred times better. Definitely a must try and rent. Some may not get used to it as quickly as others though.
