So I've decided to upgrade from my small TV to something a little bigger and more HD. The only reason I am buying it is for 360 gaming and I'm a tad confused about getting it set up in 1080p HD.
I've heard that you need to buy a cable for it but my normal Xbox Video and Audio cable has Green, Blue and Red cables coming from it in addition to the White, Yellow and Red cables as well. Are these HD cables or something else? And if they are something else what are they?
Also, the full name of the cable I may need to buy would be great help if you could supply it.
Thanks.

Just get a HDMI Cable, they are only about £10 and it's easy to set up and looks better.

I have a 50" Sony HDTV and I have my xbox hooked up in HD through the HD cable that can with my xbox and plugged into one the HDMI inputs on the TV. Hope this helps. Maybe its not set up right, but you should not have to buy anything unless you don't have the HDMI cable, otherwise can buy at local department store.

Ok, thanks for the help. One last question though, can I buy any old HDMI cable or do I need to the the most likely more expensive Xbox 360 one?
EDIT: I've been looking at the cables and it says something about some 360's not having a HDMI slot. I looked and I only have one free slot that looks kinda like a USB port next to my Video/Audio cable, is this the slot for the HDMI? And where would it fit into the TV?

No as long as its the right port it will work fine I bought a Vizio HDMI cable (my TV is Vizio) and it cost me 20 bucks and works great.

Well what no one else has sad is do youhave an HDMI port on the back of your xbox as some models do not. if you do get an HDMI cable to play in full HD but if you dont the red, green and blue cables are fine and are also HD just make sure your lead is set to HD where you have the TV or HD option on te lead. hope this helps

I recently bought a 46" sony flat screen and cant play the game on it if my life depended on it. I am so use to playing on my 32" and sitting a certain way that i find myself not being able to get comfortable it is tragic. But still good for tv, movies and the Wii lol
