ive played and reached rank 100 in gears 2 and played a litle of gears one is gears 3 worth getting ive herd its not that good

There are alot of issues with the game, but in general its a good game. two annoying weapons a couple of bad maps but it still stands up to be a playable game in the long run.

The only issues is if you dont have fenix rising quich match lags and people glitching rank other than that the game is an amazing game campain online its great all round

If you buy the Fenix rising, and Forces of Nature DLC you'll have access to dedicated servers making host advantage disappear. This is the most balanced and fair Gears of War game yet, and I love it. You can get to 100, re-up (prestige like CoD) then start again til the highest rank which keeps you busy.
Sawed-Off shotgun and Retro Lancer are annoying, but there's special "Alpha" playlists that limit their use.
I've been a long time Halo and CoD person, but Gears 3 is now my favorite game.

gears of war 3 is a awesome game, it keeps me entertained very well for a long time, but if you are going to buy it i would recommend buying the map packs, without them you can't play dedicated servers

Personally I never liked GoW except for horde, I would say no.
