I think they take some skill because I can usually get an elevator in the first minute are two, but some of my friends cannot.

IMO they don't take skill...
Most elevators are pretty easy (I'm talking about the "normal" crouch and prone elevators), you just got to have the right technique and practice them alot.
If you practice them enough, you'll be able to do them under a minute, it sometimes takes me under 10 seconds to do them.
Get your technique right and practice, and you will be able to do them quicky and consistently...
But remember, at first it takes patience, and I think that's were a lot of people give up, because there discouraged it takes so long in the beginning...

at first there hard took me full whole day of practicing now they easy except jump elevators..
you just need the patience to do them...

Whats with people bumping now, don't bump. It's not needed. No, elevators don't take skill because you just have to know what to do. Once you have done a few there easy.
