Rooting your phone is really cool and neat to do all things possible with it.

I rooted my phone at first and thought the same this is pointless and dumb. Then learned all I can do with it and there is a lot of really neat things like Custom ROM, Access to apps, And the ability to have full control of your device.

Basically rooting is granting the person access to every part of the phone and the person is in full control.

Root (n) - Allows all users to run apps that can alter anything on the phone. Adds SU Directory on phone. Installs BusyBox for dual-booting on some phones. Allows installation of custom ROM's.

You can run windows 95 on your phone. That's pretty fun!

Bro, you can do ANYTHING with a rooted phone. It makes your Android, your phone. I have been rooted for almost 3 years on Android from the Motorola Droid all the way to the Galaxy Nexus (with about 5 phones in between) and everytime I buy a new phone, I root it on the first day. The ROM choice on the Galaxy Nexus (toro) is amazing and when I am bored, I can just build my own thanks to AOSP!! Rooting is not against any law or anything that could cause legal issues and it is completely amazing!
