Uh, my screensaver is a picture of my Uncle landing in Kai Tak and on my desktop, I have three icons: Profile Editor, My CV and the Recycle Bin.

Google and some other stuff are pinned to the taskbar.

Right click the taskbar then unlock it. Once you've done that just drag it to the top!
