Both Synchronised and According To Pete have been put down as a result of serious injuries following the Grand National 2012
The event had been delayed for a few minutes after jockey Tony McCoy, on board Synchronised, was tipped out of the saddle.
Although they were reunited before the start, the horse fell at the Bechers Brook fence first time round.
It was later revealed Synchronised, who won the Cheltenham Gold Cup last month, had suffered a fatal injury.
Owner JP McManus said: "He's been killed, so I believe."

I think it is sick how they can kill a horse just because it has a injury! they should just help the horse and sell it, would be much more sensible!!!

iApple wrote I think it is sick how they can kill a horse just because it has a injury! they should just help the horse and sell it, would be much more sensible!!!
It's a real shame but I don't think they can fix a broken leg or such on a horse, (although I may be wrong) but I think this is why they put them down since they won't have a horse who can't walk!
I'm a little bit of a hypocrite. I think it's terrible how they force horses to race and then kill them in some cases but I still bet on them. I'd just prefer it if they stopped it altogether.
