If you aren't smart with computers, then why do you suddenly need this GPU?
Look around google and learn things about PC building before you go off and buy things.

You don't need to be smart with computers to want to play games.
Open up the side panel of your PC and whatever wattage your PSU is, should be written on it somewhere.
The card may get a little hotter than usual if you install it in a standard HP case, but if your not worried about it warming up a little, then it should be fine. Just make sure you use some cable ties to improve your cable management if you haven't already.
For the 6770 it is recommended that you have a 450w PSU, and you will obviously need a 6 pin power connector, which most modern PSUs will come with.
