My computer is a HP - Elite

And it's specs are

Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i3 Cpu 540 @ 3.07 Ghz to 3.07 Ghz

Ram: 4GB (Might upgrade to 8GB)

Graphics card: Nvidia geforce 320 GT (Dedicated ram 1024mb DDR3)

If there's anything else to add let me know im not sure what the watt is on this but i think it should be ok

Ty guys

According to a HP retailer, this PC is using some cheapo 300w PSU. The 680 does not use a lot of power, but a 300w PSU made by lite-on isn't going to cut it. But lets just imagine you do have a 550w Corsair / XFX series PSU in there, you will still run into overheating issues due to the case having 1 wimpy 1 x 120mm fan with close to no ventilation. You'd also have to make sure it can physically fit and it can run in its ideal full 16 x speeds. Once all that is installed, you will more than likely run into CPU bottlenecks. To make it short, no.

Just buy a new power supply cause with most stock pc's they have a crappy psu probably 350w I'm guessing so you would want a 500+ watt one but other then that it should be fine.

It's going to take a bit more than a little of maneuvering to place a socket 1155 CPU in a socket 1156 supported board.
