Uhh, 140 pounds, so that's around 223 USD, um, if you have an SLI capable motherboard, then i'd go with 2 GTX 460's. That's what i'm going to be getting soon, and they work just as well as a GTX 580.. for a much cheaper price.

They trade blows. But there are quite a few cons of going with 460's in SLI.

< You're stuck with them. Eh, how so?
> Not every game is very well optimized for SLI compared to a strong single video card. Most up to date, and recent games are optimized now.
> 580's have dropped in price....by a lot. 460's are still a bit cheaper.

> 460's in SLI will be louder and consume more power.
Just get a bigger PSU, and it won't be to loud..

What I meant by you're stuck with them, is that...well, 460's in SLI is the max and you have no upgrade path form there.
Yes, he might of saved enough $ for a even better card, but why not spend less and SLI the 580 so you'll end up with good performance without breaking the bank?
It'll be louder than 1 580.

The SLI 580's is a good idea, but by then he could of saved to SLI a higher grade graphics card
