Does any external hard drive using USB 2.0 work with a JTAG/RGH? For example, if I bought an external hard drive used for desktops, I could use it for xbox aswell?
Any help is thanked

BoSsLoBbYz wroteNope, the phat includes usb 2.0 ports. If it was usb 1.0 it would write and read at a speed of 12 Mbit/s it would be slow as **** taking over 2 hours to transfer a 7gig game.Usb 2.0 has a read and write speed of 480 Mbit/s the speed xbox reads and writes at, also if you look at the specs off the phat it even tells you they are 2.0.-ProHackerz wroteno the new slim has USB 2.0 but the phats have 1.0BoSsLoBbYz wrote any hard drive with a usb it can be usb 1.0 usb 2.0 usb 3.0 will all work even though a xbox only has usb 1.0 ports they will all workXbox 360 has USB 2.0 ports the original phat PS2 had USB 1.0.

But if I use an external hard drive that isnt made by microsoft will it still store everything because I've heard rumors that they can't save most stuff.

Wait, so which USB ports does it have? I always thought the console had 2.0?

It will work fine for what you are asking as long as you use it through xex menu and you have the hard drive formatted to fat 32
