I have done this before last year and nothing happened.

Nothing will happen if you do it,

However if you went and bought a new xbox i bet you would be pissed if it was banned so if you do trade it in you deserve it.

No they wont.You will be banned from the shop and you would be expected to pay back the money you traded it in for.That's it.Pretty much all places need photographic id and and bill of some sort to prove its you and where you live so you cant give them fake details.

They will not find out it's banned until somebody buys it then complains. All they do is see if its in working condition.
