So earleir I saw someone posted this about skyrim ripping off runescape:


1) Runescape was developed before Skyrim, and any of the Elder Scrolls games.
2) Skyrim has magic, which is fine however the spells are far too similar.
3) The creatures in Skyrim are identical to Runescape, including their designs.
4) Even the QUESTS in Skyrim are similar to Runescape.
5) Oblivion is better than Skyrim.
6) Bethesda are lazy.
7) They copied Runescape with dragons.
8) The mountains are similar in Skyrim/Runescape.
9) Jagex > Bethesda.
10) Dragons were copied, Jagex had them first.
11) Giants, as above ^
12) The ranged combat system is too alike.
13) Magic, melee copying the Runescape combat triangle.
14) Arrows were copied.
15) The trees are copied, I bet they even stole the code.
16) The ability to cut wood.
17) Smithing is copied.
18) The coins were copied.
19) The ability to level skills.
20) Dwarves + elves.
21) Frost dragons.
22) Dragon hides + bones as loot.
23) The ability to mine + smelt ore.

I have an answer to every single one of these. THESE are facts.

1)The Elder Scrolls is actually 7 years older than runescape. TES came out in 1994, runescape 2001.
2)Since TES is older and did it first, wouldn't that mean Runescape stole something?
3)Read 1 and 2 over again.
4)The quests in Skyrim are about the guilds and daedric quests that have been there through the whole tes series. So this is something thats been in TES for a while.
5)I agree, but this doesnt mean it ripped off Runescape at all.
6)If Bethesdas lazy, why are the voted developer of the year every time the make a new game, along with getting game of the year?
7)Dragons have been talked about through the whole series.
8)How different can you make a mountain?
9)Thats an opinion and still doesnt prove anything.

12)Archery is a simple system, and bethesda made it different by adding execution cutscenes and the abilty to zoom in, enchant arrows, etc.

16)If bethesda wants to add things to there games to make it a better experience they should.
17)You think no games had smithing before runescape?
18)This makes no sense since the septims in TES have the print of the emporer on them, runescape woudnt be able to ahve the same one because it would make no sense at all.

20)Dwarve is just a racial slur towards the Dwemer. There are no dwarves. Elves have been here the whole series.

22)Dragons have to drop something, what else could they drop?
