if you bought gold yourself and didnt disable the auto renew you should be fine

There is no way to cancel gold and re buy it while you have an active subscription.

Trust me, I wish it was possible.

You can't buy gold when you have gold so the answer is no. But just don't tell any 1 about the name and there you go.

That is not true. You can cancel gold and re-purchase it. Check out the sticky in Gold Members Discussion. I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post the link to it.
