Hi I have a more than decent computer and I am only getting 50-90 FPS, this is the graphics card I am using right now newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?...6814127566
How can I resolve this issue?
I have a friend with a GTX 460 who gets past 200 FPS on Far distance without OptiFine. Aside from my graphics card I have 8GB of ram and a decent quad-core cpu. Any ideas on my fps?

No, Minecraft needs a GPU more than it needs RAM.
Trust me.

Anyways, fix the link to your GPU or at least say what it is, then I will be able to see if it is a good one.
