its the 3rd gen 3750k isn't it an upgrade from the 2500k which was used in many previous gaming build?

Not really an upgrade, more of an alternative. There is disadvantages to IB as well, one of them being not OC'ing nearly as well. The barebones kit is OK except for the PSU - a lot of major players who set out barebones kits ( including Newegg ) usually always skimp on the PSU/MOBO, in this case it's more of the PSU if anything. You'd probably save more if you bought and selected the parts yourself. A 550w XfX is great and is sold @ TigerDirect.

okay thank you for your information it has been noted and remembered for future use. and i will most likely just buy the parts individually as i have a giant case and dont need another laying around plus i can have more freedom because i know i will end up upgrading ram and other thing etc thank you!
