Riddle 8 - You throw away the outside and cook the inside. Then you eat the outside and throw away the inside. What did you eat?

Riddle 3: The answer is a river. It runs when the currents strong (or weak), theres a bed of a river, and a mouth of a river.
I knew this because when I heard the words "bed" and "mouth" a river flew into my mind (The Merrimack river specifically) then I knew they run, and I wasn't sure on the murmur part.

Riddle 8 : corn on the cob. you peel the green stuff off (outside). then you cook the corn on the cob (inside). then you eat the kernels (outside) off, but throw away the cob (the inside)
