Well first off, I wouldn't even use the gun till I absolutely had to.
You ONLY use melee weapons in such an event as everyone knows that zombies are attracted to sound. So the sound of a bullet goes for miles, attracting every zombie within a five-mile radius.
But, OT, I would have to use that final bullet to kill myself if I came overrun with zombies as to not feel the pain of them eating my flesh as I'm still alive.

I would not do what happened in the movie the mist...
He shoots his whole family and he is the only one left, seconds later the military shows up and rescues the survivors.
