My friends and I have started building a bit of a castle (its a ghetto castle, with a water fall. GET SOME). My dilemma is this. I want to make a bridge, that I can turn a switch to make the bridge go like up, or a row of trap doors open (to fall through).
I have redstone, repeater, lever, redstone torches. I just don't know how to make my plan work. I have tried lining redstone along the trap doors and connect it to a lever, powered by a redstone torch.
This way, for me it only opens or closes 1 trap door. I have 4 that I want to open and shut
all of the trap doors, or another way to do this. Please leave your ideas, feedback, your minecraft savvy, anything you can give to me. (Started playing minecraft only on xbox 360, i have never played it before.)

it is possible BUT what you would have to do is this, if say at one end of the bridge you lap your line of traps like this :- )[] = trap doors.
[][][][][][][][]
along side them you would need this
[RT]=Redstone torch [R] = laid redstone just not a torch
[RT][R][R][RT][R][R][RT][R][R]
so your complete should look like this [From a birds eye view]
[RT][R][R][RT][R][R][RT][R][R][B/L]
[] [] [] [] [] [] [] [] []
so you basicaly need to do that the [B/L]= either button or lever at the end, this way should work, for some reason the laid redstone dosent seem to power anything after 2 blocks distance well for me anyway, so good luck
p.s. if you are still having trouble feel free to add my gt:FLOPPYFOOTLONGG it has 2 G's at the end and i can come into the game and show you good luck.

I was able to figure it out, not the way you told me Floppyfootlong. when setting the traps, its like this.
[
[
[
[
Thats with the trap door going to the right (fall zone on right)
To get them all to turn on and off together with 1 switch and 1 torch. its like this.
(r)[
(r)[
(r)[
(r)[
(r)
(B/L)
(r)
(RS Torch).
The redstone must be on the block the traps are assigned to in order for this to work.
