sorry for realy late reply but if you have taken xbox apart to hotswap what i do is when it says play games pull the disk out and put modded disk in wait 3 seconds then click play game it works without installing

does it work with the xbox slim ????

I would keep the waw disk in the tray
go to options/game details
then swap the disk
wait a couple seconds and then hit play or go to main menu then hit play

Ok when you put the world at war disc in and it comes up saying play game, and then it does not work, this is a reading problem, it can see there is a game in there but it can't tell which game, so you will need to get it cleaned - Asda have a cluing thing where it fixes all the gaps in the disc ( 1 ) this always works for me, if that does not work, try another scratched game because it could be your laser
