In an interview, Treyarch head Mark Lamia stated that the beginning misssions of the campaign will be flashbacks to the cold war. One of those missions is the horse mission you see in the trailer.

To be honest I don't think your theory is correct. Some Black Ops 2 missions are set in the past so I think it may just be a mission that is set in the past

Obviosly the russians did get away on the last missions of black ops 1 , As to that everyone thought russians gave up but they advanced futher into there techonolgy as United states were siting thinking they won. Then take MW3 killstreak ' Speacial Airdrop gunner' This was United states first aircraft of there plans, Then if u see 2 men flying the looklike version 'blue' that was russians version 'Faster and more equiped' then u take the RC-XD had a control thing onto that so what Russians did was updraded that into a flying version But last longer, Then u get the walker things - As you can see this Is a russian Upgraded Jeep But the weapons are upgraded but the United states have the upgraded guns, Russians didnt get all the files , So the new Recruits at the start was getting told how this started by Jake woods.

Thank you to every posting about my theory, I have come across many people saying that some missions are set in 1980 as a flash back mission and I do believe this as well.

Theory is now updated as well as contains a new theory i have been reading
