Please post your opinions. I am building a custom system with a budget of about 1400 USD and I am considering making it a Hackintosh. I won't be gaming much but I will be video editing and other stuff.

I wouldn't, and I'm not sure if the new hardware is compatible yet. Windows is equally competent as OSX for editing and you'll be able to get more out of your hardware. You can always dual-boot later on.
