craigavfc wrote Totally agree with TTG_Code which addressed the problems of the build you recommended him AMD, you have picked components that are pretty shocking. Just to name one is the CPU, why not a i5 2500K ? he might not be gaming but for multi- tasking the CPU would be a huge benefit of performance, the budget is alright which he can get good quality parts even though he might not be gaming. As stated a i3 (low end of the sandy bridge - hence the number 3) would destroy that CPU easy. Bunt, I would recommend asking someone else as ehe parts chosen for you, you would not get a benefit out of those components for a gaming build. BTW I am not hating, I am just helping Bunt out here, also I would recommend AMD that you should do a little bit more research on computer components, just helping with you recommending builds as I don't want to come across as a hater - Just saying.

Tips - for example the psu (power supply unit) use a branded one like corsair because cheap one's are made out of paper and can seriously damage other components inside the computer, if you have to spend over $100 for a top brand one - so be it because your playing safe, most of the cheap psu's don't even reach the wattage that they say they are.

BRAND DOES NOT MATTER!

Im stressing this soo much.

I have no top bran equipment in my build it has not "blown up" like you guys say

He has a budget.

Intel Yes... It is better but integrated graphics are terrible and everything on an intel is more than a just fine AMD setup... PSU's Will not blow up unless you are a complete idiot. 2500K Thats half of his F*cking budget! Stay on the budget then come talk to me...

Just because you were cheap and did not invest in a half descent PSU and it has not failed yet does not mean it's going to be the same for someone else. You're asking to get shafted in the long run if you cheap out on the heart of the system - want proof? Every single person who owns a pre-built PC from HP for example and wants to put in a descent video card - oh wait, they can't due to a insufficient PSU that has multi 12v rails and isn't even rated. You should be the last person giving out advice, seriously.

...So your telling me off when i have had this computer for 2 years or so and have always used a lower priced PSU that its going to blow up or not give the sufficient power? Moron you're paying for the name. Let me guess you got an alien-wear because there all fancy and s*it? Pathetic. Im going to do it my way now bugger off kid. They asked for a budget. I gave them a WORKING computer at that budget that if you use top brand stuff you might get half of the performance going with more expensive CPU with integrated graphics. They blow. I have been running a 450W gpu off that exact 550W PSU and its running just fine. Moron you dot want the exact Watts. You'll get under voltage on any PSU if you have exact wattage.

You're wrong and everyone knows it. Just stop, please, for your own sake. If I'm a moron so is everyone else in this topic suggesting that this build is flawed and I guarantee they are not morons by any stretch. A 450w GPU off of a 550w no name PSU? Yeah, I'm sure that's not a lie - I don't see people running a 480 off of a OEM HP 500w because, well, for one it won't even have the PCIE power connectors to power it. No, I don't have an Alienware PC or any pre-built desktop in my home, at all and I will never have. I've custom built my PC and many others for friends and relatives and no matter the budget I always, and I mean always buy a quality PSU, ESPECIALLY when there is a $5 difference. I'd like to see you post that exact same message on JonnyGuru and see how bad you get verbally humiliated even more than you did here.

Have a good day.

Don't think we're trying to be malicious, it's all you retaliating. If you still think you're right, you're delusional. We've explained to you specifically why you're wrong and offered a solution. If you want any more explanation, I'm sure we'd be happy to help you.

At an overview of the topic, clearly people are helping you and they know what their talking about, this is what makes this community great. As I say people are helping and that everyone is just giving constructive feedback so I think you should take it all in really. Just to reply back about budget wise of which you stated. Here is a question for you. You stay on budget and you buy none branded items that are cheap - 6 months go by and the psu breaks ? (another $17) or you could go over the budget to buy top quality brand components that won't fail BUT may have warranty if it breaks so that you don't have to pay another cheap $17 psu as you just pay for the postage of $10 for the psu to be fixed or receive a new one as you bought a top quality component. Another thing to add is that whether or not it is budget, your computer build must be built safe and especially if your building it for someone else, would you want the responsibility of someones house burnt down from a cheap psu that you recommended or installed ?

Are you retarded?

You call everyone "kids"

PSU Brand don't matter? WTF?

Don't even bring up alienware.

Yep, you're retarded.

Also, PSU is the backbone of the PC, bad PSU = pretty much all your components will fail.
