people are reporting that there purchases are being canceled when the buy something from the ms store with the 20 dollar promo code

To many people was abusing their Cloud Beta program and Microsoft stopped the program.

I still have yet to get my first code, which I tried about two weeks ago. Not really worried about it at this point though.
